About the position

The Project Coordinator I will play a crucial role in supporting the production, engineering, and project management teams within the Operations Department. This full-time position is designed for individuals who are eager to contribute to the successful execution of projects by overseeing various administrative tasks. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating schedules, managing budgets, and ensuring that resources are available to meet project deadlines. This role requires a proactive approach to project management, as the coordinator will be tasked with preparing and maintaining essential project management documents, including travelers, project plans, and status reports, as directed by the Program Manager. In addition to document management, the Project Coordinator will act as a liaison between project managers, engineers, production staff, and other departments. This involves ensuring that parts are ordered in a timely manner and that costs are documented to maintain budgetary constraints. The coordinator will also support the program management department by identifying and communicating potential risks associated with projects. Effective communication is key, as the Project Coordinator will be responsible for updating team members and stakeholders on project progress, organizing and attending stakeholder meetings, and documenting processes to assist in continuous improvement efforts. Overall, the Project Coordinator I will be an integral part of the team, performing various duties as necessary to ensure the smooth operation of projects and the achievement of organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain project management documents, such as travelers, project plans, and project status reports, as directed by the Program Manager.
  • Act as a liaison between project managers, engineers, production, and other departments to ensure timely ordering of parts and documentation of costs.
  • Support the program management department in identifying and communicating risks.
  • Assign tasks and control schedules to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Communicate the project's progress to team members and other stakeholders.
  • Organize and attend stakeholder meetings to facilitate communication and collaboration.
  • Document processes and assist in process improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as necessary and/or required.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with basic project management principles.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
  • Ability to read CAD drawings.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ongoing BS studies in a STEM program preferred.
  • Familiarity with Solidworks.
  • Familiarity with PDM.
  • Excellent time management, multitasking, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to identify problems and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
