About the position

The Project Coordinator for Administration at Tufts Medical Center will provide essential administrative and programmatic operational support to Research Administration. Reporting to the Vice President, this role involves coordinating research program operations, including human resources functions, IT needs, payroll processing, and record keeping. The position requires independent judgment, multitasking abilities, and a commitment to supporting the research mission effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the onboarding of new employees, ensuring technology, security, and systems access are in place.
  • Coordinate research volunteer onboarding and maintain a database of research volunteers.
  • Request computing resources for new hires and ensure network access and software readiness.
  • Complete payroll on a biweekly basis, ensuring compliance with payroll systems and policies.
  • Add new hires to central research email lists and update them regularly.
  • Compile and curate content for newsletters, overseeing the operation of creating monthly newsletters.
  • Provide organizational support to the VP of Research and Directors in tracking human resources compliance.
  • Assist with the research time and effort report process, tracking responses and communicating with Directors.
  • Act as a liaison for medical staff reappointments, ensuring completion of applications.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues to foster a positive work environment.
  • Develop working relationships with other departments to ensure professional collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field.
  • Three years of experience in administrative operations, preferably in an academic or medical research setting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Kronos payroll and Workday systems.
