About the position

The Project Coordinator III at Dallas Water Utilities is responsible for the senior-level coordination, management, and facilitation of various infrastructure and construction projects across the City of Dallas. This role involves ensuring compliance with city codes and standards, overseeing permitting processes, and maintaining effective communication among departments, contractors, and project personnel to ensure successful project implementation.

Responsibilities

• Perform project coordination and oversee permitting processes for infrastructure projects.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration between departments, contractors, and project personnel.
• Conduct and facilitate meetings to address project issues and encourage successful implementation.
• Lead and supervise plans examiners in the building inspection review and permitting process.
• Coordinate team review meetings for multi-million dollar utility infrastructure projects.
• Review plans and plats for zoning compliance and supervise the issuance of permits.
• Evaluate and ensure contract compliance with City standards for private development contracts.
• Research and coordinate funding sources for projects and manage project accounts.
• Attend meetings to discuss construction-related issues and ensure effective project coordination.
• Perform any additional work as needed or assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, engineering, architecture, or construction management.
• Two years of experience managing construction-related activities or coordinating capital improvement projects.
• One year of supervisory/project management experience.
• Ability to interpret City ordinances, rules, standards, and protocols.
• Knowledge of project coordination, permitting, and construction processes.
