About the position

The Purchasing Agent at Watt Acquisition, LLC will play a crucial role in sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing electrical equipment, materials, and supplies essential for various electrical projects. This position requires a strong understanding of the electrical industry, coupled with excellent communication and negotiation skills. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and will be responsible for collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other team members to accurately determine project needs and requirements. Key responsibilities include conducting market research to identify reliable suppliers and maintaining a comprehensive supplier database. The Purchasing Agent will evaluate supplier proposals, negotiate pricing and terms, and make purchasing decisions in accordance with company policies and budget constraints. Timely order placement for electrical equipment, materials, and supplies is critical to ensure adherence to project timelines. Additionally, the role involves monitoring inventory levels to manage stock effectively, avoiding shortages or excesses. The Purchasing Agent will also coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing discrepancies. Maintaining accurate purchasing records, including purchase orders, invoices, and delivery receipts, is essential. Staying updated with industry trends, new products, and market conditions will ensure competitive sourcing and procurement practices.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a purchaser or in a similar procurement role within the electrical contractor industry.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical equipment, materials, and supplies commonly used in the industry.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
