About the position

As a Project Coordinator Intern at Advisors Excel, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Project Management Office (PMO) by assisting Project Managers in various tasks related to project coordination and management. This internship is designed for individuals who are passionate about organization and project management, and who thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the business and industry, while developing your skills and understanding of Project Management. This is an ongoing internship, meaning it is not limited to the summer months, allowing you to immerse yourself in the role and contribute to strategic projects that the PMO is working on. In this position, you will assist Project Managers with identifying, managing, and resolving project risks and issues. You will also help in reporting on the project status and health, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed of progress and any potential challenges. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with product owners, developers, and other members of the Scrum-based development team. Your ability to think outside the box will be essential in providing high value-of-service to users and ensuring that projects are delivered successfully. Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers with identifying, managing, and resolving project risks and issues.
  • Assist Project Manager with reporting on the project status and health.
  • Iterate rapidly and work collaboratively with product owners, developers, and other members of the Scrum based development team.
  • Engage in outside-the-box thinking to provide high value-of-service to users.

Requirements

  • A strong interest in Project Management as a career is preferred.
  • Business, Computer Science, Psychology, or similar degree path.
  • Self-starter with strong self-management skills.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Perform other project management related tasks and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior work experience in coordinating or managing projects is preferred.
  • Passion about what you want to do and an obsession with staying on top of current trends and tools.
