About the position

The Senior IT Field Services Infrastructure Technical Project Coordinator - IT Operations at Tesla is a pivotal role responsible for the buildout of IT infrastructure and systems at both new and existing Tesla facilities. This position encompasses a variety of strategic IT operational projects, requiring a blend of strong project management skills and technical expertise in networks, desktop, server, and low voltage cabling. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in IT infrastructure project management, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple high-visibility projects simultaneously while ensuring successful implementation and adherence to Tesla's standards. In this role, the coordinator will oversee the deployment of IT infrastructure to new Tesla facilities as dictated by business needs, as well as manage network upgrades for existing facilities. The position requires direct interaction with various stakeholders, including network program managers, project managers, and team leaders, to coordinate tasks and achieve project objectives. The coordinator will also be responsible for maintaining comprehensive IT infrastructure documentation, implementing and troubleshooting wired and wireless networks, and developing relationships with vendors and contractors. The successful candidate will be expected to document and track project status using collaboration tools like Confluence and ticketing systems such as JIRA. They will provide regular project progress reports to various stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment throughout the project lifecycle. A strong commitment to detail, excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Project management of the deployment of IT infrastructure to new Tesla facilities as required by the business
  • Project management of the network upgrades of IT infrastructure for existing Tesla facilities as required by the business
  • Interface directly with network program manager, project managers, network managers, supervisors, and team leaders in coordinating the tasks for teams and team members on project objectives, as needed
  • Maintain IT infrastructure documentation as it relates to ITFS Services and Support
  • Request and retrieve all requirements from the appropriate sources which are necessary to fulfill project objectives
  • Implement and troubleshoot wired and wireless networks
  • Coordinate team resources to complete tasks, deliver on objectives, and meet project milestones
  • Ability to effectively manage, maintain and coordinate multiple critical and high-visibility projects simultaneously
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, contractors and internal Tesla business customers
  • Document and track project status through collaboration tools (Confluence) and ticketing systems (JIRA)
  • Ensure design, install, and workmanship at each project adheres to Tesla standards
  • Provide project progress reports to the project manager, program manager, network manager, team managers, team leaders, team members and stakeholders, as requested

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Networking, Information Systems, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience with IT Infrastructure Project Management, LAN/WAN and WiFi networks design and implementation, desktop, and software support
  • Experience in building remote office or retail locations by working with General Contractors, LV Vendors and internal Project Management teams across multiple business groups
  • Ability to read and understand design and construction drawings and prepare network markups
  • Ability to travel quickly and frequently (20 -30%) as needed to sites throughout North America
  • Excellent communications and documentation skills
  • Positive attitude and strong attention to detail
  • Strong project management and time management skills
  • Knowledge of backend Microsoft environments (Active Directory, Intune, SCCM, etc.) to support configuration, management, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with SCCM, MDM, AVAYA, Juniper, Cisco Meraki, Aruba, Ekahau, IR Touchscreens, Blue Beam, PowerShell is a plus
  • M&A experience is a plus
