About the position

The Project Coordinator Journeyman SME (Technical Writer) at Optimal Solutions & Technologies (OST, Inc.) is responsible for planning and coordinating project activities involving various teams, including engineering, logistics, and contracting. This role requires collaboration with government teams to track project goals, monitor performance, and recommend improvements. The position also involves utilizing Microsoft Project for planning and scheduling, as well as organizing meetings and presentations to facilitate program management.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate the activities and efforts of IPTs (weekly) consisting of engineering, logistics, contracting, financial and support personnel in project execution.
  • Develop metrics to track achievement of project goals in conjunction with the government team.
  • Participate in project meetings, conferences, reviews and test and integration events (weekly) in collaboration with the government team.
  • Monitor performance, evaluate performance against goals, and make recommendations to the government team regarding issues affecting project execution consistent with project cost, schedule and performance and contract requirements.
  • Recommend ways to control and improve developer/prime contractor performance and maximize program technical, schedule and cost performance during contract execution to the Government team (weekly).
  • Utilize Microsoft Project to facilitate/execute Integrated Master Plans (IMP) and Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) development with program stakeholders in accordance with applicable policy and regulations.
  • Attend weekly meetings (some daily) to keep current on schedule changes or updates as required.
  • Organize sponsored and endorsed meetings, shows and exhibits by developing presentations and attending and reporting on selected briefings and demonstrations of organizational interest.
  • Establish processes and procedures to facilitate program management and administration.

Requirements

  • Ability to organize and plan requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products – Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Technical Writing Skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Project
  • Knowledge of DoD Acquisition Process and Procedures
  • Knowledge and Skills of management concepts, principles, methods, practices, analytical analysis, and processes
  • Knowledge of the full range of principles, concepts, and methodology associated with project management including planning and completing assigned workload
  • Knowledge of program planning and budgeting cycles
  • Ability to execute projects and/or studies within established financial and time constraints
  • Ability to interpret and apply rules, regulations, and procedures
  • Ability to integrate information
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • 10+ years of experience
  • Secret Clearance
  • Army Medical Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience supporting DoD acquisition programs
