About the position

The Project Coordinator position at West Virginia University Hospitals focuses on coordinating Ambulatory Operations to support the development and implementation of strategic initiatives. The role is essential in improving service levels, patient experience, and quality and safety performance by tracking, analyzing, and reporting on program and project initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains agendas, meeting minutes, trackers, and follow-up items to ensure successful project movement.
  • Serves as the primary coordinator between multiple stakeholders including Ambulatory Operations, clinical department leadership, IT, and marketing.
  • Assists Department Leadership in standardization and process improvement to enhance the patient experience.
  • Keeps project leaders informed of barriers, progress, and outstanding items.
  • Explores inquiries from Department Leadership, Clinical Providers, and Staff to achieve resolutions independently.
  • Pulls, reviews, and analyzes data to evaluate the success of implemented initiatives and offers solutions for next steps.
  • Reviews existing metrics and dashboards to identify deficiencies and areas for improvement, providing potential solutions.
  • Communicates professionally across various mediums with internal peers, leadership, and external vendors.
  • Coordinates patient communications including letters, MyChart messaging, and phone calls/text messages.
  • Works collaboratively with the ambulatory operations team and other departments to optimize the patient experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration or related field; OR Associates Degree in Healthcare Administration or related field AND two years related experience; OR High School diploma AND four years related experience.
