About the position

The Project Coordinator at Duke University's Marcus Center for Cellular Cures (MC3) is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Carolinas Cord Blood Bank (CCBB) Processing Laboratory. This role involves ensuring compliance with regulations, managing laboratory supplies, and performing data entry to maintain accurate records. The Project Coordinator plays a vital role in producing high-quality clinical products for hematopoietic cellular transplantation, working collaboratively with a team of professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with general administrative activities including data entry into the electronic database and filing of cord blood unit batch records.
  • Review and prepare batch records and quality control documents for storage.
  • Screen documents for completeness and investigate any inaccuracies or missing information.
  • Receive and maintain confidentiality of donor packets and newborn screening results.
  • Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and manage orders with CCBB Laboratory management.
  • Evaluate laboratory data and prepare reports, providing input on trends and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist in packing and preparing research-use cord blood unit shipments.
  • Maintain strong relationships with CCBB team members and attend routine meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One year of experience in program administration or related activities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with supply management is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
