About the position

The Municipal Project Coordinator position at our leading civil engineering firm is a pivotal role that combines both business development and technical project management responsibilities. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring that projects are executed efficiently and meet the high standards expected by our clients. This role requires a proactive approach to project coordination, where the individual will work closely with clients, management, and various project teams to establish clear objectives and deliverables. The Municipal Project Coordinator will assist in the development of project plans, including timeframes, budgets, and labor allocations, while also organizing project teams and assigning responsibilities to ensure that all aspects of the project are covered. In addition to project management duties, the Municipal Project Coordinator will play a key role in business development. This includes providing input on project proposals and cost estimates, as well as assisting the Business Development and Marketing teams in creating and updating technical content. The ability to maintain exceptional internal and external client relations is crucial, as the coordinator will be the point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle. The role also involves reviewing work products to ensure they meet design specifications and client requirements. The Municipal Project Coordinator will collect, analyze, and summarize information and trends related to the projects, intervening as necessary to keep projects on track. Promoting internal communication and collaboration within project teams is essential, as is the ability to understand and perform technical duties related to the projects when required. Responsibilities

  • Provide input on project proposals and cost estimates.
  • Assist Business Development and Marketing teams with creating and updating technical content.
  • Assist Managers with exceptional internal and external client relations.
  • Collaborate with clients and management to establish project objectives.
  • Develop project plans, determining timeframes, budgets, labor plans, and project schedules.
  • Organize project teams, assemble and direct team members, and assign responsibilities.
  • Review contracts with approved sub-consultants as needed.
  • Analyze design, client requirements, and performance standards to review work products.
  • Collect, analyze, and summarize information and trends related to projects.
  • Promote internal communication and encourage dialogue within project teams.
  • Collect and organize project materials to maintain project files.
  • Review product quality and understand technical components of related positions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in project coordination or management within the civil engineering sector.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client relations.
  • Ability to analyze and summarize project data effectively.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
