About the position

The Project Coordinator will assist the Project Management team in EnerSys's three lines of business: Energy Systems, Specialty Transport, and Motive Power. This role is crucial for coordinating project activities throughout product lifecycles, tracking progress, and reporting results to core team members. The Project Coordinator will manage scope, timing, quality, and financial outcomes of projects from start to finish, ensuring that all project deliverables are met efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate will bring value through their experience in leading teams and building relationships. This position reports to the Director of Program Management Engineering and may also work closely alongside other Project Managers. The Project Coordinator is expected to manage several straightforward projects independently while also aiding other project managers in larger, more complex projects. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with opportunities for growing responsibility as the individual demonstrates competence. Key responsibilities include organizing and structuring teams for various tasks, taking ownership of projects, creating timelines and milestones for low-risk projects, coordinating team meetings, defining project scope and resource allocation, and leading core team meetings and design reviews. The Project Coordinator will also monitor project deliverables, manage overall project performance, budget, and risk, and serve as the primary communication point between the project team and stakeholders. The ability to actively listen, understand needs, and develop credibility with stakeholders, including senior management, is essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Management team in EnerSys's three lines of business: Energy Systems, Specialty Transport, and Motive Power.
  • Organize, structure, and bring together teams for a work package or set of tasks.
  • Take ownership of tasks and work independently, driving projects from start to finish.
  • Create low-risk project, sub-projects, or work package timeline and milestones.
  • Coordinate team meetings to discuss project deliverables and timeline milestones.
  • Define project scope, milestones, timing, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate and lead core team meetings, design reviews, milestone reviews, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Manage a work package and/or sub-project of limited complexity.
  • Monitor all project deliverables while identifying and addressing project issues or risks.
  • Assist in managing overall project performance, budget, and risk, while communicating market needs, engineering status, and project requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of communication between project team and stakeholders.
  • Develop key stakeholder relations including those with senior management and leadership.
  • Utilize negotiation tactics to resolve conflicts to ensure project success.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field/discipline or Project Management Certificate.
  • Experience in project management or coordination roles.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
  • Experience in managing project scope, timing, quality, and financial outcomes.
