About the position

The Project Coordinator (Project Manager 1) position at the Oregon Health Authority is a limited duration role focused on supporting IT operations through effective project coordination. This fully remote position involves managing multiple projects, engaging with stakeholders, and ensuring project objectives are met. The role is integral to advancing the agency's mission of promoting health and well-being in Oregon, with a commitment to diversity and equity.

Responsibilities

  • Support one or more projects within Project Solutions.
  • Coordinate multiple projects or parts of large projects based on scope and complexity.
  • Maintain frequent contact with stakeholders and internal staff to provide project progress updates.
  • Monitor work, resolve issues, and gain commitment and collaboration to achieve project objectives.
  • Work closely with the project manager and project staff on assigned projects.

Requirements

  • Three years of progressively responsible paraprofessional or technical experience related to project management.
  • An Oregon Project Management Associate Certification and two years of progressively responsible experience related to project management.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, or a closely related field.
  • A Project Management Professional Certification awarded by the Project Management Institute.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hands-on experience managing technology projects following PMI standards.
  • At least one year of experience using Microsoft Project Schedule to manage project schedules.
  • Skill in coordinating project activities through various lifecycle phases.
  • Experience with Federal and State compliance reporting.
  • Proficiency in facilitating meetings and articulating expected outcomes.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, Visio, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Project.
