About the position

The Project Coordinator for the SAMHSA Grant at Molloy University will provide administrative leadership and oversight for a comprehensive project aimed at preventing campus suicide and promoting wellness among students. This role involves strategic planning, implementation of various project components, and direct engagement with students to assess their needs and provide counseling and crisis intervention. The position is grant-funded for one year, concluding on September 29, 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and provide direction for the strategic planning and development of the project.
  • Implement trainings and programming related to mental health and wellness.
  • Conduct outreach to vulnerable groups at risk for suicide and substance abuse.
  • Meet with students to assess needs and provide individual and group counseling.
  • Consult with families, faculty, and mental health professionals to facilitate the counseling process.
  • Refer students to outside resources as necessary.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology.
  • Limited permit to practice counseling in New York State.
  • 3 to 5 years of work-related experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Experience with SAMHSA Grant Reporting (training will be provided).

Nice-to-haves

  • Fully licensed in New York State to practice clinical counseling.
