The Project Coordinator - Service at Cummins Inc. is a pivotal role that focuses on ensuring seamless customer interactions and effective project management within the service department. This position requires a proactive approach to assess customer needs, gather relevant information, and open work orders. The Project Coordinator is responsible for providing quotes, developing claims, preparing repair plans, scheduling work, and keeping customers updated on the status of their repair work in the shop. This role is essential in maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. In addition to customer interaction, the Project Coordinator is tasked with developing diagnostic plans and repair strategies. This involves determining the length of repairs based on parts and labor availability, and reviewing these plans with the Service Supervisor before contacting customers. The Project Coordinator collaborates closely with the Service Supervisor to schedule shop job assignments, ensuring that all tasks are completed in a timely manner. The role also encompasses technical service support, where the Project Coordinator aids Cummins Sales and Services North America in executing various technical service events. This includes fluid sampling, scheduling service visits, processing work orders, invoicing, and creating quotes. The Project Coordinator serves as a resource for project management, identifying and tracking project issues, and communicating project status to the team. Administrative support is another key responsibility, which includes assisting with budget planning, research, and analytical support. The Project Coordinator provides input into the design and development of project plans and timelines, manages project risks, and utilizes quality tools to identify potential areas of concern. Documentation and communication are critical aspects of this role, as the Project Coordinator is responsible for maintaining project notes, databases, and records, while also sharing team learnings with other teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assess customer needs and gather pertinent information to open work orders.
  • Provide quotes, develop claims, prepare repair plans, and schedule work.
  • Keep customers updated on the status of repair work in the shop.
  • Develop diagnostic plans, quotes, and repair plans based on parts and labor availability.
  • Review diagnostic plans and repair plans with the Service Supervisor before customer contact.
  • Collaborate with the Service Supervisor to schedule shop job assignments.
  • Support Cummins Sales and Services North America in executing technical service events.
  • Serve as a resource on projects and work assignments, identifying and tracking project issues.
  • Monitor and communicate project status to the project team.
  • Assist with budget planning, research, and analytical support.
  • Provide input into the design and development of project plans and timelines.
  • Manage project risks and use quality tools to identify areas of risk.
  • Document and share team learnings with other teams.
  • Maintain project notes, databases, and other records.

Requirements

  • College, university, or equivalent degree required.
  • Minimal level of relevant work experience required.
  • Very strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Comfortable working with various IT systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in leading a team.
  • Ability to handle large data sets.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and Power BI are a must.
  • Ability to work in the 3rd shift (Night Shift).
