About the position

Hitachi America Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Project Coordinator to join its Particle Therapy Systems Division. This position is pivotal in supporting the sales function and project execution of Particle Beam Therapy (PBT) business in North America, a specialized form of radiotherapy for cancer treatment. The Project Coordinator will work under the direction of the Division Director/Project Manager, ensuring effective communication and coordination between customers and the engineering project development team based in Japan. This role requires a proactive approach to managing technical, building construction, and commercial aspects of projects, making it essential for the candidate to possess strong organizational and communication skills. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for preparing proposal offers to customers, establishing site office organization, and participating in relevant industry and professional associations. Attendance at related technical conferences is also expected to stay updated on industry trends and developments. Collaboration with colleagues is crucial, as the role involves preparing necessary documentation for the PBT business, including translating technical literature and operations & maintenance manuals. The ideal candidate will thrive in a multi-cultural dynamic work environment and demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies. This position offers the flexibility of remote work on the West Coast or the option to work onsite in Santa Clara, California. Proficiency in both English and Japanese is required, along with a strong interest in high technology. Responsibilities

  • Proactive coordination between the customer and engineering project development team in Japan on technical, building construction, and commercial aspects.
  • Prepare proposal offers to the customer to establish site office organization.
  • Participate in relevant industry and professional associations and attend related technical conferences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to prepare required documentation for the PBT business, including translation of technical literature and operations & maintenance manuals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related field is required.
  • 2+ years of experience in working on large scale projects including construction is required.
  • Capable of working independently as well as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Strong communication (written, verbal, presentation) and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well with various personnel demonstrating a good attitude and function in a multi-cultural dynamic work environment.
  • Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office and latest PC technology is required.
  • Strong interest in high technology and willingness to learn is expected.
  • Proficiency in Japanese is required.
