About the position

The Project Coordinator role at CMC offers an excellent opportunity to learn about the steel, construction reinforcement, and ground stabilization industries while providing essential support to project managers. This position involves a variety of administrative tasks, including managing project documentation, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring effective communication among project stakeholders. Responsibilities

  • Preparation and administration of requests for information (RFI)
  • Confirm distribution of various project plans to detailers, generals, and vendors
  • Write extras and create extras from field work Authorizations (FWA, TMN)
  • Run costs to complete cost status reports (CSR)
  • Distribute correspondence to clients monthly (OEC)
  • Manage purchase orders (PO) for various outside vendors and track until paid
  • Send out field use drawings when requested
  • Report federally funded projects to general contractor (GC), corporate directed by project manager (PM)
  • Administer pre and post start-up meetings
  • Responsible for administrative measures of ordering, procurement, and billing of all specialty items as directed by the project manager (PM)
  • Create Extra Log for new projects and review contract/specifications regarding pricing with the project manager (PM)
  • Identify and track Extra releases for PM review and ensure they have been billed
  • Perform additional meeting prep or specialty projects as directed by project manager (PM) or Operations Manager
  • Check email and all associated inboxes regularly to stay up to date on incoming information
  • Administer the Detailing submittal log
  • Cover for the project manager (PM) when they are not available
  • Respond to customers, detailers, field staff, and all emails and phone calls when providing project manager (PM) coverage
  • File new drawing sets, CPM schedules, Pour sequences in the appropriate job folder
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience in the construction industry preferred
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and punctuality
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds
  • Required computer skills include word processing, spreadsheet functions, and database upkeep
  • Ability to read technical documents and service manuals
  • Willingness to cross-train as required
  • Basic computer skills such as familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills preferred
  • Ability to work overtime as business requires
  • Ability to operate office equipment including fax machines, printers, and communication devices
  • Exceptional customer service skills required.
