About the position

ACS Professional Staffing is seeking a dedicated Project Coordinator to work on-site with our client in Richland, Washington. This role is pivotal in managing small project teams and ensuring that projects run smoothly from inception to completion. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and tracking all project activities, becoming an expert on the specific projects they handle. This position requires a proactive approach to stay updated on new technologies, recommend process improvements, and create budgets that align with project goals. In this full-time position, the Project Coordinator will manage small projects related to refueling outages, forced outages, and on-line maintenance as assigned. The role involves providing oversight of staff involved in planning, leading, controlling, and monitoring project activities. Ensuring that work is implemented safely, with quality, on schedule, and within budget is a critical aspect of this position. The Project Coordinator will manage all aspects of project implementation, including budget management, work package preparation, parts procurement, ALARA planning, industrial and nuclear safety, work prioritization, resource loading, and work execution. The Project Coordinator will also be responsible for resolving schedule delays and conflicts promptly and effectively, developing project budgets, and tracking costs versus budget for assigned projects. Frequent interfacing with clients, engineers, related parties, and management is essential to ensure proper progress and focus on project objectives. Additionally, the role includes developing and managing contracts and interfacing with vendors as necessary, preparing and delivering written and oral communications to various groups, including senior management, and supporting the effective implementation of the Columbia Generating Station Self-Assessment and Corrective Action Program.

Responsibilities

  • Manage small projects for refueling outages, forced outages, and on-line maintenance as assigned.
  • Provide oversight of staff involved in planning, leading, controlling, and monitoring project activities.
  • Ensure that work is implemented safely, with quality, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Manage all aspects of project implementation, including budget management, work package preparation, parts procurement, ALARA planning, industrial and nuclear safety, work prioritization, resource loading, and work execution.
  • Resolve schedule delays and conflicts promptly and effectively.
  • Develop project budgets and track cost versus budget for assigned projects.
  • Interface frequently with clients, engineers, related parties, and management to ensure proper progress and focus.
  • Develop and manage contracts and interface with vendors as necessary.
  • Prepare and deliver written and oral communications to various groups, including senior management.
  • Develop and maintain long-range plan strategies associated with assigned projects.
  • Support effective implementation of the Columbia Generating Station Self-Assessment and Corrective Action Program.
  • Provide support for outage support, including OCC (Outage Control Center).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business, or related field from an accredited college or university AND one year of experience in a technical field;
  • OR Associate's degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business, or related technical curriculum from an accredited college or university AND three years' experience in a technical field;
  • OR High School Diploma/GED AND five years' experience in a technical field.
  • Project Management Certification and Construction Management Certification desired.
  • Nuclear experience is highly desired but not required.
  • Basic understanding of project management techniques.
  • Familiarity with core values related to human performance and cost-effective work execution.
  • Proficiency in using computer software tools, such as MS Office.
  • Knowledge of error reduction and human performance improvement methods.
  • Understanding of cost-effective work execution methodologies.
  • Experience managing projects, including on-line work management, refueling, and forced outage management related activities.
  • Familiarity with engineering or standard project management techniques.
