About the position

The Prototype Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in managing various aspects of prototype projects within the engineering department. This position is based in Dearborn, MI, and operates on a long-term contract basis. The primary responsibilities include working through issue resolution, providing status updates, and ensuring that project timelines are adhered to. The coordinator will be responsible for maintaining the project budget, tracking expenditures, and managing transactions to ensure that all project functions are executed smoothly. Additionally, the role will support the growth and development of projects by collaborating with various teams to ensure that deliverables are met on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate and organize engineering groups, materials, and components effectively. This position requires a proactive individual who can work independently and is willing to learn and adapt to new challenges. Attention to detail is critical, as the coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the project are meticulously tracked and reported. The role may also require working overtime and weekends as needed to meet project deadlines and objectives.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven customer relationship skills.
  • Strong computer skills, fluent in MS Word and Excel (Microsoft Office).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Self-starter, self-motivated, and willing to learn.
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work overtime/weekends.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associates degree.
  • GPIRS experience.
  • Previous experience as a vehicle build coordinator.
  • OEM prototype vehicle experience.

Benefits

  • Contract position with competitive hourly pay of $17 - $19 per hour.
