About the position

Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a Project Coordinator to join our Infrastructure Security department. This role is integral to supporting INL program managers and project managers in the development of comprehensive project plans, cost estimates, actual costs, contracts, schedules, and resource allocation. The Project Coordinator will work a 9x80 schedule, which allows for every other Friday off, and will be based out of our Research Education Center facility. In this position, you will be responsible for identifying and analyzing system requirements, defining task scope and deliverables, and providing guidance to project team members. You will facilitate cooperation and integration among team members, collaborating closely with partners and subcontractors to ensure project success. Your role will also involve monitoring and evaluating tasks to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications, as well as creating task/project status reports based on information gathered from various assignments. Additionally, you will develop and implement project reporting materials, controls, and monitoring procedures to ensure that project scope, schedule, and cost goals are achieved. You will support the development of the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), performance measurement and analysis, funds management, spend forecasts, performance forecasts, and estimates to complete. Your recommendations on contracting strategies, subcontractor statements of work, and overall relationships will be crucial to the project's success. Furthermore, you will pursue continual learning and self-development, providing technical direction and guidance to junior staff while enhancing their professional skills through mentoring.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and evaluate tasks to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications, and create task/project status report(s) from information gathered on various task assignments.
  • Develop and implement project reporting materials, controls and monitoring procedures to ensure achievement of project scope, schedule and cost goals.
  • Provide support in the development of the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), performance measurement and analysis, funds management, spend forecasts, performance forecast, and estimates to complete.
  • Provide recommendations on matters such as contracting strategies, subcontractor statements of works and overall relationships, change orders.
  • Pursue continual learning and self-development, technical direction and guidance to junior staff, enhance technical/ professional skills of junior staff through mentoring.

Requirements

  • Level 2 - Bachelor's Degree in relevant field from an accredited institution and 2 years experience or advanced degree and 1 year experience.
  • Level 3 - Bachelor's Degree in relevant field from an accredited institution and 5 years experience or advanced degree and 2 years experience.
  • Experience developing project plans & schedules, cost estimates, assisting with resource allocation, and project management software.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy 'Q' clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
