About the position

The Project Coordinator at Ozarks Technical Community College is responsible for assisting in the planning, engineering, and execution of construction projects across all college campuses and centers. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. The Project Coordinator will manage project documentation, facilitate communication among stakeholders, and monitor construction progress while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and building codes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist during the design phase of new construction or building renovations to ensure conformance to program, budget schedule, and College standards.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.
  • Plan and coordinate capital projects at all college campuses and centers.
  • Coordinate scheduling, logistics, and lead meetings, site visits, and construction inspections.
  • Manage project correspondence and communication with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with college staff, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
  • Monitor construction progress, conduct inspections, and ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks to the project and develop contingency plans for unforeseen circumstances.
  • Ensure that all billing and payments are in accordance with contract documents and properly justified in relation to the progress of construction/renovation projects.
  • Identify and map College utilities and archive building plans and layouts.
  • Prepare service agreements and purchase requisitions.
  • Create and maintain project files, records of building plans specifications, and general building data.
  • Prepare written specifications for bidding contracted work.
  • Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
  • Comply with college policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including attending college functions, serving on committees, and attending community events.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a relevant field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Experience in construction project management.
  • Understanding of building codes, construction drawings, architectural design, landscaping design, and the basics of engineering.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to use information technology for professional productivity (such as Microsoft Office Suite).

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Three years of experience in construction project management.
  • Experience working within a collegiate setting.
  • Experience with design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, etc.
  • Experience with construction software such as Submittal Exchange, Procore, etc.
