About the position

The Project Coordinator at the University of California San Francisco will play a pivotal role in leading gonorrhea programmatic efforts for the STD Control Branch. This position requires interaction across a broad spectrum of disciplines, including epidemiology, surveillance, disease intervention, clinical policy, and local capacity building. The Project Coordinator will act as a liaison to program partners, which include the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, local health jurisdictions, and other key stakeholders. This role is essential for fostering collaboration and ensuring that programmatic efforts are aligned with public health goals. In addition to programmatic leadership, the Project Coordinator will provide comprehensive administrative and program management support. This includes managing budgets, overseeing purchasing processes, and contributing to progress reports and grant-writing efforts. The position may also involve supervising staff as needed, ensuring that team members are effectively supported in their roles. Furthermore, the Project Coordinator will assist the Medical and Scientific Affairs Section Chief by managing program protocols and providing technical assistance and local capacity building on antimicrobial resistant gonorrhea and other sexually transmitted infections that are of public health importance. This is a full-time position with an anticipated duration of 18 months, and the final salary will be determined based on UC policy and the experience of the selected candidate. The role is critical in addressing public health challenges related to sexually transmitted infections and will require a proactive approach to program management and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead gonorrhea programmatic efforts for the STD Control Branch.
