The Project Coordinator role at Marquette University is a part-time position focused on managing various projects, programs, and initiatives primarily associated with the Central Service Center (CSC). The CSC serves as the university's cost center for services that support faculty members in their engagements with external stakeholders. This position requires close collaboration with the University Relations leadership team and senior leaders across different units within the university. The Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting and coordinating initiatives that promote effective execution and foster collaboration among cross-functional teams. In this role, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing key activities and initiatives from conception through execution. This includes determining and assigning roles to project team members, facilitating strategic conversations and project meetings, managing timelines, project scope, and deliverables, and developing comprehensive reports on project initiatives. The Project Coordinator will also collaborate with the Economic Engagement Coordinator to translate strategies into actionable project charters, which encompass budgets, stakeholders, timelines, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring the successful implementation of these plans. Additionally, the Project Coordinator will assist in student hiring and communication for projects related to the CSC and Innovation Alley. Establishing and documenting more formalized processes for the CSC will be a key responsibility, along with providing ongoing project communications to keep stakeholders informed about strategies, budgets, milestones, and deadlines. The role requires the ability to prioritize projects among competing demands, ensuring that time and resources are allocated effectively. The Project Coordinator will act as a resource for the Associate Vice President for Corporate Engagement, the Economic Engagement Coordinator, and other University Relations staff, particularly in preparation for key meetings and events. Establishing effective communication mechanisms to report on the progress of initiatives, projects, and programs is essential, as is the ability to raise issues to project owners promptly to facilitate timely resolutions of project challenges.
