About the position

Our client in Katy, TX is seeking a dedicated Project Coordinator for a contract position that is on-site and full-time. This role is initially set for a duration of 3 months, with the potential to extend for an additional 12 months based on performance and project needs. The hourly pay for this position is competitive, reaching up to $35 per hour, depending on the candidate's experience. The Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting the business project management organization by ensuring alignment on the status and key details of the company's critical strategic priorities. This position requires a proactive approach to communication, particularly in conveying risks and complexities within the project portfolio to an executive audience. In this role, the Project Coordinator will lead meetings, update work plans, and create new process flows that consider downflow impacts, ensuring that new processes are sustainable and deliver the intended outcomes. The use of data and analytics is essential, as the coordinator will be tasked with solving ambiguous issues to facilitate data-driven decision-making, often in partnership with Finance and other support groups. Additionally, the coordinator will work closely with Finance to create business cases and key financial metrics that support various initiatives. The ability to create compelling presentations is vital, as the coordinator will need to drive work forward and gain alignment on critical issues, often requiring storytelling skills within presentations. Supporting the Director of the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) will also be a key responsibility, particularly in identifying and designing interventions and programs that enhance the health of the project portfolio and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the business project management organization to align on the status and key details of the company's critical strategic priorities.
  • Communicate risks and complexities within the project portfolio to an executive audience.
  • Lead meetings, update work plans, and create new process flows that consider downflow impacts to ensure new processes are sustainable and deliver the intended outcomes.
  • Use/create data and analytics to solve ambiguous issues to help with data-driven decision-making, partnering with Finance and other support groups as needed.
  • Work with Finance to create business cases and key financial metrics in support of the initiatives.
  • Create presentations to help drive work forward and gain alignment on critical issues, often requiring storytelling within presentations.
  • Support the Director of EPMO in identifying and designing interventions and programs that will help improve the health of the portfolio and strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of project management, reporting experience, and consultant experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to understand new concepts quickly and work in a fast-paced dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to influence and grow internal and external networks.
  • Ability to work within tight timelines, deadlines, and on multiple projects.
  • Works well in ambiguous situations and with minimal supervision.
  • Highly analytical and can effectively work in groups to use critical thinking to problem solve (quantitative, conceptual, analytical).
  • Strong financial and business acumen.
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills required.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
