About the position

LaForce is seeking a Project Coordinator to play a pivotal role in managing small commercial construction projects. This position involves estimating, scheduling, managing, and entering orders for projects in collaboration with general contractors. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for analyzing plans, specifications, and other project documents to develop accurate cost estimates for small projects. Once the bid is complete, the coordinator will send the bid to the general contractor and oversee the project from inception to completion. This includes preparing necessary drawings and hardware schedules, as well as maintaining effective communication with general contractors throughout the project lifecycle. The role also requires troubleshooting and addressing any inquiries that may arise during the project execution. In addition to project management, the Project Coordinator will be tasked with writing and processing orders in the LaForce systems once the project is sold. A key aspect of this role is to develop technical knowledge that enables the coordinator to resolve field problems and serve as a resource for customer needs. Building and nurturing relationships with general contractors is essential to ensure that LaForce can provide its goods and services on their projects. Responsibilities

  • Analyze plans, specifications, and other project documents to develop cost estimates for small projects.
  • Send completed bids to general contractors after the bidding process.
  • Schedule and manage small projects from start to finish, including preparing drawings and hardware schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with general contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Troubleshoot and address any questions or issues that arise during the project.
  • Write and process orders in the LaForce systems once the project is sold.
  • Develop technical knowledge to resolve field problems and assist customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One to two years of related experience and/or training in project coordination or management.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common plans and specifications.
  • Strong communication skills to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers.
  • Proficient in calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
