About the position

The Project Coordinator in Construction Operations at Elizabethtown Gas plays a crucial role in overseeing the safe operations of construction projects in the field. This position involves monitoring, inspecting, and maintaining projects from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with company standards and policies. The coordinator is responsible for scheduling meetings, maintaining communication with stakeholders, and supporting the execution of strategic plans related to construction implementation and oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee construction of gas utility infrastructure for residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
  • Supervise and inspect all construction activities, ensuring safety, compliance, and quality.
  • Coordinate with internal and external service providers to ensure work is performed as planned.
  • Review and approve work orders, progress reports, field changes, invoices, and bid contracts.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction through timely communication with customers and governmental agencies.
  • Champion Quality Assurance and Quality Control on all capital construction projects.
  • Drive results through performance management of external and indirect resources.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis on any self-inflicted gas damage or customer outages related to construction.

Requirements

  • High School/GED
  • 5+ years of overseeing construction and/or distribution operations in a gas utility or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong communication skills with all levels of the organization.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills for establishing effective working relationships.
  • Contract and performance management capabilities.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Ability to walk construction sites and potentially drive for up to four hours at a time.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in the gas industry focused on capital construction and maintenance.
  • Experience in field inspection activities, project control activities, or process improvements.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • NACE I CWPI or CWI certification.
