About the position

Job Title: Project Coordinator Location: Charlotte, NC, and Surrounding Area Company: Tryon Services, LLC About the Company: Tryon Services, LLC, is an electrical and instrumentation contractor headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina. We are a growing company and are looking to add another team member to help with our expanding operations. We serve customers in the upstate South Carolina and North Carolina regions. Currently, we are seeking a highly versatile person with a working knowledge in Microsoft Office, basic construction knowledge, and the ability to perform multiple office and field assignments to support our projects. While not mandatory, knowledge of electrical installations, materials, and methods is greatly valued. The Project Coordinator will assist the project manager in day-to-day activities, interpret electrical drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate implementation, and compile and prepare submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), and other critical project documentation for management review. The role will also involve supporting projects with take-offs, material procurement, and inventory management. The Project Coordinator will assist in the development of construction work packages, schedules, and other planning activities. Additionally, the position requires creating sketches and simple drafts to aid project installation and providing support in the field as needed. This role is essential in ensuring that projects run smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the project manager in day-to-day activities.
  • Interpret electrical drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate implementation.
  • Compile and prepare submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), and other critical project documentation for management review.
  • Support project(s) with take-offs, material procurement, and inventory of materials.
  • Assist in the development of construction work packages, schedules, and other planning.
  • Create sketches and simple drafts to aid project installation.
  • Work and support construction leadership as needed.
  • Provide support in the field if needed.

Requirements

  • Experience within a construction or electrical contracting environment is preferred.
  • Capability to interpret and understand electrical drawings is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills are required.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Bluebeam, Adobe, and similar software is preferred.
  • Fundamental mathematical skills are required.
  • Exceptional communication abilities, both verbal and written are required.
  • An educational background in construction management, electrical engineering, or a related field is advantageous.
  • Must pass a mandatory drug screen and background check.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Must be flexible in schedule and able to travel to projects.
