About the position

The Project Coordinator for the Addictions, Drug & Alcohol Institute (ADAI) at the University of Washington will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating projects aimed at improving the understanding and reducing the harm caused by alcohol and drug use. This position involves working with a multidisciplinary team to advance research, policy, and practice in addiction treatment and workforce development across multiple states. The role is primarily remote with some travel requirements, focusing on establishing priorities, supervising technical assistance efforts, and representing the Northwest ATTC at various regional and national forums.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes priorities for the region and its individual states and carries out annual work plans including coordination of staff and contractors and manages sponsor reporting requirements.
  • Supervises efforts of the Northwest ATTC Technology Transfer Specialist in the design and delivery of technical assistance activities by staff and contractors.
  • Serves as the Northwest ATTC lead technical assistance provider to state systems and agencies in the adoption of evidence-based practices and service improvement.
  • Works in tandem with the Northwest ATTC Technology Transfer Specialist to represent the Northwest ATTC at regional workgroups and consortia.
  • Supports relationships and manages priority projects with Single-State Authorities in each state and other key regional stakeholders, including Community Advisory Board members.
  • Maintains an inter-state, multi-disciplinary network of project collaborators, and establishes relationships with other regional training and technical assistance efforts.
  • Reviews and approves all Northwest ATTC products.
  • Serves as a member of the national ATTC steering committee and other SAMHSA-based national and regional working groups that develop tools and products to support ATTC network.
  • Represents Northwest ATTC at regional and state conferences.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in public health, health services, social work, psychology, nursing, or education, OR equivalent experience.
  • Three years of education and/or experience in supervision or professional-level work related to substance use disorder treatment, training, or agency administration, including at least two years of clinical training and experience in direct delivery of health services for persons with substance use disorders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience as an educator, trainer, or organizational consultant in health services for persons with substance use disorder is preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal agency programs, institutional policies and procedures, and familiarity with states and partner institutions.
  • Experience in working with individuals from diverse populations and varied backgrounds.
  • Skills implementing complex projects, consultation and meeting facilitation; oral and written communication, report preparation, and general application of institutional policies and procedures.
