About the position

The Project Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting the Administrative Services Manager at the Center for Population Health Data Science (CPHDS). This newly established center aims to modernize data practices and enhance the integration of public health, healthcare, and social services to improve health outcomes for New Yorkers. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for managing a portfolio of projects that focus on enhancing administrative processes and customer service within the division. This position is based at the Health Department's office in Long Island City, NY, and offers the possibility of hybrid work arrangements. In this role, the Project Coordinator will serve as the primary coordinator for various administrative projects, ensuring that processes are streamlined and effective. A key responsibility will be to coordinate a web-based service request tracking application, which will facilitate staff requests for goods and services. The Project Coordinator will also work to enhance communication regarding administrative policies and procedures, ensuring that all staff are informed and engaged. Additionally, the Project Coordinator will participate in the Division Action Team, acting as a liaison for goal setting within the CPHDS Administration. This position is essential for fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring that the division operates efficiently and effectively. The CPHDS is committed to making data more accessible and usable, and the Project Coordinator will contribute to this mission by supporting various initiatives that aim to improve the agency's data capabilities. The role requires a proactive approach to project management and a strong commitment to equity and inclusion in all aspects of work.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary coordinator on a portfolio of Center for Population Health Data Science Admin. projects around enhancing administrative processes and customer service amongst division staff.
  • Coordinate an internal, web-based service request tracking application that will allow staff to submit direct requests for goods and services.
  • Enhance and encourage equitable communication of admin-related policies and procedures to all staff on a consistent basis.
  • Participate in the Division Action Team by serving as goal setting liaison for CPHDS Administration.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited CUNY college in a major related to the work in which the fellow will be trained, and perform in the particular position.
