About the position

The Project Coordinator at Copper World Inc. plays a crucial role in supporting the Copper Worlds Project Department, reporting directly to the Mine Manager. This full-time position is based in Sahuarita, AZ, and is integral to the execution of approved Capital and Operating Projects. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for planning, scheduling, construction, commissioning, and ensuring operational readiness of various projects. This role requires a proactive approach to construction coordination, providing operational support, and direct supervision of contractors to ensure project goals are met efficiently and safely. In this position, the Project Coordinator will develop scopes of work for Mine Operation and Technical capital and operational projects, manage requisitions, and perform Technical and Commercial Evaluations. The role also involves coordinating Engineering Quality Control & Assurance programs and supporting the Contract team during the development of continuous service contracts. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating material logistics necessary for project execution and will conduct Kick-off Meetings, Safety Reviews, and Weekly Construction meetings with contractors. The Project Coordinator will monitor contractor work approvals, site access, quality, efficiency, qualifications, and safety. This includes reviewing, validating, and approving Contractor Time Sheets and Invoices, ensuring that services have been received as per the contract. The role requires a thorough understanding of contract management, including budget and spend information, to ensure the proper contractor is utilized for scheduled work. The Project Coordinator will also perform contractor audits for quality and compliance, ensuring that all work adheres to safety and operational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Execute approved Capital and Operating Projects including planning, scheduling, construction, commissioning and operational readiness.
  • Provide construction coordination for Capital and Operating projects.
  • Provide operational support and direct supervision of contractors.
  • Develop scopes of work for Mine Operation / Technical capital and operational projects.
  • Support the management of requisitions and performance of Technical and Commercial Evaluations.
  • Provide coordination for Engineering Quality Control & Assurance programs.
  • Support the Contract team during continuous service contract scope development, demand planning and issue management of continuous service contracts.
  • Coordinate material logistics required for project execution.
  • Perform Kick-off Meetings, Safety Reviews and Weekly Construction meetings with contractors.
  • Onboard contractors with the Safety, Environmental, and operational departments.
  • Monitor contractor work approvals, site access, quality, efficiency, qualifications and safety.
  • Review, validate and approve Contractor Time Sheets.
  • Review, validate and sign off on Contractor Invoices that services have been received.
  • Understand the scope of the contract to ensure the proper contract/contractor is utilized before scheduling a contractor in to perform work.
  • Perform contractor audits for quality, qualifications, compliance, invoice auditing.
  • Understand and access contract budget and spend information.
  • Understand business value regarding contracts and contract management.

Requirements

  • Community College degree in Engineering, Technical or Trades discipline is required.
  • 3 years of experience in project management, particularly in construction disciplines.
  • Knowledge and understanding of project management principles and management skills.
  • Familiarity with safe work procedures and evaluating safe work practices in the field.
  • Experience with scheduling, report writing, procurement and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Possess a valid Driver's License.
