The Project Coordinator position at Coast Community College District is designed for individuals with specialized knowledge or expertise that is not typically found in the classifications established by the District. Under general supervision, the Professional Expert will provide assistance and support in accordance with assignments and directions from the supervisor. This role is temporary and is intended for specific projects, with employment terms outlined in the Professional Expert Agreement. Non-academic, non-classified Professional Experts are at-will employees and do not have entitlement rights to any position within the District. It is important to note that employment for retired CalPERS Annuitants is limited to 960 hours in a fiscal year, which runs from July 1 through June 30. The Project Coordinator will work closely with the Supervisor to coordinate project budgets, delivery expectations, and track the status of project outcomes. This role may involve acting as a liaison with vendors, contractors, and outside agencies to ensure that all contractual obligations are met. The Coordinator will provide feedback to the supervisor regarding project timelines, delivery, reporting, and expectations. Additionally, the position may require performing specialized and complex administrative activities, supporting a large college program or several smaller programs, necessitating a thorough understanding of program organization, operations, policies, and procedures. This recruitment is for an applicant pool to fill temporary or short-term assignments as needed. Departments or divisions will refer to this pool of applications to fill positions as the need arises. Applications will remain in the pool for one year, and candidates will be contacted by the hiring manager if there is interest in scheduling an interview. Regular attendance is considered an essential job function, and the inability to meet attendance requirements may affect employment retention. The individual in this position is also considered a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and must comply with relevant policies and procedures.
