About the position

The Project Coordinator plays a crucial role in the Bristol Bay Area Health Corporation (BBAHC) by assisting the Projects Department Manager in various aspects of development planning, design, construction, and record-keeping for facilities-related projects. This position is integral to ensuring that all project-related documents are processed and archived efficiently, including specifications, drawings, approved contractor payments, and compliance-related documentation. The Project Coordinator will also support the Maintenance Department in managing facility maintenance and improvement upgrades, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. In this role, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining accurate records and documentation throughout the project lifecycle. This includes overseeing the organization of project files, ensuring that all necessary documentation is readily accessible, and that compliance with relevant regulations and standards is upheld. The Project Coordinator will work closely with various stakeholders, including contractors, maintenance staff, and management, to facilitate effective communication and collaboration on projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and project management, particularly within the healthcare sector. They will be expected to possess a thorough understanding of construction contracting, building codes, and hospital standards. The ability to negotiate project contracts and manage changes within legal and contractual bounds is essential. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are required to convey technical information to diverse audiences effectively. Additionally, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel, is necessary for managing project documentation and correspondence.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Projects Department Manager in development planning and design of facilities-related projects.
  • Process and archive project-related documents such as specifications, drawings, and compliance documentation.
  • Support the Maintenance Department with project management of facility maintenance and improvement upgrades.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Engineering or Architecture degree preferred.
  • Ten plus years of relevant construction experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree requirement.
  • Prior experience with facilities maintenance and project management activities required.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of construction contracting and understanding of building codes and hospital standards for construction is required.
  • Ability to negotiate project contract completion and changes within legal and contractual bounds.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
