About the position

The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OU HSC) is seeking a Project Coordinator to join its team. This position plays a crucial role in coordinating and managing all activities related to major projects within a college or department. The Project Coordinator will serve as a liaison between various administrative levels, including Campus, College, and Department administration, to ensure the successful completion of project objectives. The role requires the individual to lead the implementation of projects using basic planning techniques, establish and maintain ongoing reporting processes, and coordinate meetings, workgroup sessions, and seminars. The Project Coordinator will also be responsible for performing related duties as assigned to fulfill the functions of the position effectively. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills, along with advanced computer skills. They should be capable of making independent decisions and exercising judgment while following broad instructions. The ability to plan, coordinate, and prioritize workload is essential, as is an advanced level of analytical, evaluative, and constructive thinking. The working conditions will primarily be in a standard office environment, requiring the ability to sit for prolonged periods, communicate effectively, and utilize a computer with manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and manages all activities related to a major project or projects in a college or department.
  • Interfaces and serves as liaison with Campus, College, and Department administration to accomplish project objectives.
  • Leads the successful implementation of projects using basic planning techniques.
  • Establishes and maintains ongoing reporting processes.
  • Attends and coordinates meetings, workgroup sessions, and seminars.
  • Performs related duties as assigned or as required to successfully fulfill functions of the position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree AND 24 months of project management or related experience.
  • Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 72 months of related experience.
  • Advanced organization and communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and judgment when following broad instructions.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and prioritize workload.
  • Advanced level of analytical, evaluative, and constructive thinking.
