About the position

The Project Coordinator position at ICF is designed to support the growth of utility energy efficiency programs. This role is hybrid, allowing for remote work with local travel, and is based in Columbia, MD. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in energy efficiency and experience with utility energy efficiency programs, as well as knowledge of energy-efficient technologies related to commercial and residential building systems. Familiarity with technologies and practices concerning lighting, motors, HVAC systems, and other energy technologies is highly beneficial. In this role, you will be an integral part of the energy efficiency team, ensuring the successful evaluation, implementation, and verification of utility-sponsored energy efficiency projects. Your responsibilities will include reviewing project application forms and submissions from customers, contractors, and engineers to ensure compliance with program policies. You will provide technical assistance and guidance on energy-efficient technologies to participating companies, review technical specifications and cost estimates, and perform energy savings calculations. Additionally, you will process paperwork for program incentive payments and coordinate quality control activities such as inspections and customer surveys. Conducting surveys to verify the installation and operation of energy efficiency equipment will also be part of your duties. Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the energy efficiency team ensuring successful execution of utility-sponsored energy efficiency projects.
  • Review project application forms and submissions for compliance with program policies and procedures.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance on energy-efficient technologies to program participants.
  • Review technical specifications, engineering calculations, and cost estimates for energy efficiency projects.
  • Interface with customers and contractors participating in utility-sponsored programs.
  • Perform energy savings calculations for prescriptive energy efficiency measures and upload records into the program database.
  • Process paperwork for program incentive payments per established policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate program quality control activities such as inspections and customer surveys as appropriate.
  • Conduct lighting and other energy-using equipment surveys to verify installation and operation of energy efficiency equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED (or one year of related experience can substitute for one year of education).
  • 1+ years of experience working with databases.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Energy, Environmental Studies, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Experience performing energy audits and energy savings calculations.
  • Experience with lighting retrofit designs and assessments.
  • Knowledge of HVAC system assessment, operations, and maintenance.
  • Experience interacting with business owners and key stakeholders.
  • Ability to apply detailed knowledge of organizational procedures to make independent decisions.
