About the position

Bristol Bay Construction Holdings LLC (BBCH) is seeking a motivated and results-driven Construction Project Coordinator to join the Herman Construction Group team, a subsidiary of BBCH. This key role involves providing direct support to the project management team, ensuring that all aspects of construction project operations are handled efficiently. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a solid understanding of construction project operations, capable of interfacing directly with Program and Project Managers, Superintendents, Subcontractors, and other Project Coordinators, as well as home office Operations Staff including Accounting, Contracts, and IT. In this position, you will support the Project Manager (PM) with various tasks including project setup, preparing subcontractor bid packages, managing purchase orders, invoicing, certified payrolls, scheduling, and document preparation and submittal. You will also be responsible for maintaining project files and documentation, attending meetings, taking and distributing meeting notes, assisting with project commissioning and closeout, and providing other project support as requested. The role may require occasional travel and on-site assistance, as well as overtime work to meet project deadlines. The work environment is a combination of office and outdoor site locations, requiring the ability to maneuver around work sites and communicate effectively with co-workers and clients. Responsibilities

  • Direct interface with Program and Project Managers, Superintendents, Subcontractors, and other Project Coordinators.
  • Support the PM with project setup, subcontractor bid packages, purchase orders, invoicing, certified payrolls, scheduling, document preparation and submittal, and project files and documentation.
  • Attend meetings, take and distribute meeting notes, and assist with project commissioning and closeout.
  • Provide other project support as requested by the PM.
  • Attend construction-related training as needed.
  • Assist PM on-site from time to time as needed.
  • Occasional travel to job sites and overtime work as needed to meet project deadlines.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a construction project management support role and/or a B.S. Degree in a related field or relevant experience that demonstrates overall knowledge.
  • Thorough understanding of construction terminology, practices, and job site safety.
  • Good knowledge of construction budgeting and management practices.
  • Team-oriented and willing to assist other project coordinators as required.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
  • Ability to enter, access, and retrieve data from company databases.
  • Ability to interact well at multiple levels with site and home office personnel.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through with duties and assignments.
  • Good organizational, time management, and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to perform job requirements with limited day-to-day management support.
  • Advanced MS Office skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with RMS and Primavera P6 is a plus.
  • Experience with federal construction projects, particularly DOD/USACE, is a plus.
