About the position

The Project Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the performance of the master production schedule to meet customer service objectives, manage inventory levels, and oversee configuration management. This role involves planning, preparing, issuing, and controlling production schedules and material requirements to ensure a smooth flow of materials for production needs.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies raw material and component requirements for production from engineering and production specifications.
  • Advises management on the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems.
  • Evaluates and confirms materials supply availability to meet demand.
  • Prepares work orders or purchase requests for components or parts to support production schedules.
  • Coordinates material movements between internal shops, warehousing, and suppliers.
  • Schedules and expedites the movement of parts with vendors or internal personnel.
  • Analyzes inventory needs, usage, and delivery time frames to support projects.
  • Assists management in resolving issues concerning material shortages and delivery dates.
  • Coordinates cross-functional activities with various departments to ensure smooth material flow.
  • Maintains control over open orders and updates personnel on issues that could jeopardize timelines.
  • Applies continuous improvement techniques to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Formulates flow charts or gant charts to update repair progress for management and customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Two or more years of related experience in project management.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing resources planning theories and principles.
  • Proficient in standard business software and manufacturing resource planning systems.
  • Ability to monitor and apply continuous improvement methods to project planning.
