About the position

Kimo Constructors, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Project Coordinator or Assistant Project Manager to join our team in Bosque Farms, NM. This position is integral to the successful execution of our construction projects, requiring close collaboration with various stakeholders including Project Managers, Project Supervisors, General Superintendents, Estimators, and Accounting personnel. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting ongoing projects and assisting in the preparation of estimates for new bids, ensuring that all aspects of project coordination are handled efficiently and effectively. As a Project Coordinator, your primary responsibilities will include coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers to manage submittals and Certificates of Compliance documentation. You will be responsible for preparing and tracking subcontract documents to onboard subcontractors onto new projects. Additionally, you will perform quantity takeoffs from plans to facilitate accurate estimating and ordering of materials. Engaging with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotes for new project bids will also be a key part of your role, along with delivering bids for in-person submissions. For those stepping into the Assistant Project Manager role, additional responsibilities will include ordering materials, drafting Requests for Information (RFIs), and updating monthly progress schedules using P6 software. You will coordinate with project owners and clients as necessary, attend project progress meetings, and visit job sites to monitor work progress and address any field issues. Preparing work packages for complex field work, attending pre-bid conferences, and preparing change order estimates and new project estimates will also be part of your duties. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers for submittals and Certificates of Compliance documentation.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field, or 4 years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with computer programs including Word, Excel, Adobe (or Bluebeam), Microsoft Teams, or other video conferencing software.
  • For Assistant PM role: 4 additional years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with P6 scheduling software, HeavyBid, or other estimating software (for Assistant PM role).
