About the position

The Project Coordinator at Community Violence Solutions is tasked with developing, coordinating, and providing specialized training, education, outreach, and technical assistance on human trafficking. This role is crucial in engaging various stakeholders, including youth, medical providers, law enforcement, community members, and other social service providers. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and supporting training and outreach activities both internally and externally, while also serving as a liaison with community partners. The position requires a proactive approach to developing and facilitating specialized training for identified projects on human trafficking, with tasks that may vary based on emerging community needs. In addition to training coordination, the Project Coordinator will provide technical assistance to community partners, ensuring the continued knowledge and implementation of best practices when working with victims and survivors of human trafficking. Building and maintaining strong working relationships with community-based organizations, health care agencies, law enforcement, and social service organizations is essential. The role also involves engaging with underserved and culturally diverse populations, facilitating presentations and discussions related to human trafficking and interpersonal violence. The Project Coordinator will support the Executive Director in developing prevention programming aimed at raising awareness about human trafficking, particularly labor trafficking, within the community. This includes contributing to research-informed approaches to primary prevention and the development and implementation of best practice and evidence-based training curricula. The role also encompasses maintaining accessible records regarding resources, key contacts, and evaluation data, as well as contributing to data collection and program evaluation efforts. The Project Coordinator will represent the agency at community meetings, taskforces, councils, and outreach events as needed, ensuring that the agency's mission and objectives are effectively communicated and supported.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, and facilitate specialized training for identified projects on human trafficking.
  • Provide technical assistance to community partners to promote best practices when working with victims and survivors of human trafficking.
  • Engage with underserved and culturally diverse populations and facilitate presentations and discussions related to human trafficking and interpersonal violence.
  • Support the Executive Director in developing prevention programming related to human trafficking awareness in the community.
  • Contribute to research-informed approaches to primary prevention and the development of evidence-based training curricula.
  • Maintain accessible and complete records regarding resources, key contacts, and evaluation data.
  • Contribute to data collection and program evaluation efforts.
  • Prepare grant reports in conjunction with other program directors.
  • Develop and update evaluation tools, pre/posttests, surveys, and needs assessment tools to assess program activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in victimology, psychology, sociology, criminal justice, public policy, or a related field; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with public speaking and engaging diverse audiences.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, organize thoughts, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Solid skills in decision-making, organization, leadership, and excellent time management.
  • Flexibility with schedule as evening and weekend work may be required.
  • Excellent technical skills, preferably with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Zoom, Canva, or other media design platforms.
  • Completion or availability to complete the required 65-hour human trafficking, sexual assault, and domestic violence training within three months of hire.
  • Knowledge of prevention theories and program strategies.
  • Experience in grant writing and program development and implementation; minimum of 2 years in sexual assault prevention education, counseling, or a related discipline.
  • Experience providing services to sexual assault victims/survivors.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in writing and designing prevention programs and curricula.
  • Successful background and criminal clearance, including DOJ, FBI, Child Abuse Index, and DMV checks.
