The Project Coordinator at Methodist Hospital plays a crucial role in supporting the Facilities Maintenance and Plant Operations departments. Reporting directly to the Facilities Director/Manager, this position is responsible for maintaining the computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) that track both preventive and corrective maintenance tasks. The Project Coordinator will assign work orders to tradespersons, ensuring that all maintenance tasks are completed accurately and on time. This role also involves managing data retention within the CMMS database, running reports, and tracking daily labor productivity. Additionally, the Project Coordinator will develop spreadsheets for budget tracking and monthly operational expense reports, requisitioning building materials and contracted services in accordance with hospital procurement policies. In this position, the Project Coordinator will apply strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster a positive work environment and enhance customer satisfaction. They will assist the Director/Manager in developing, implementing, and maintaining the annual operating budget, ensuring that all operations adhere to established guidelines. Confidentiality is paramount in this role, and flexibility in work hours and schedule is required. The Project Coordinator will serve as the primary point of contact for the department, helping to organize departmental activities and maintain professional work habits. This includes prioritizing tasks, completing assignments promptly, and adapting to changes in workload. The Project Coordinator will also be responsible for assigning and closing work order requests, coordinating annual building equipment permits, and handling various project management tasks. They will assist in procurement, asset management, and capital expenditure requests, while also processing and monitoring inventory valuation through the Materials Management System. Promoting a safe and positive work environment is essential, and the Project Coordinator will engage in team meetings and support hospital policies and management decisions. Continuous education in Facilities Administration, data management, and project management is encouraged to maintain up-to-date knowledge in these areas. The use of work processing, spreadsheet, and maintenance management software is critical for creating accurate documentation as required by the Director or Manager.
