About the position

The Project Designer / Job Captain at Solutions Architecture Corp is a dynamic role focused on supporting architectural projects from pre-design through construction administration. The position requires a self-motivated individual with strong design skills and technical proficiency, particularly in Revit, to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. The role emphasizes collaboration, attention to detail, and the ability to juggle various responsibilities while contributing to the firm's success.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting surveys of sites and buildings, both interior and exterior.
  • Learning to generate 3-D Building Scans.
  • Generating presentation drawings/images/sketches for client approval on design concepts and material selections.
  • Preparing meeting minutes for all attended meetings.
  • Assisting with the completion of contract drawings for each project, with support depending on job size.
  • Completing drawings using Revit Architecture following determined standards.
  • Assisting the Spec Writer with the preparation of technical specifications for each project with the Project Manager.
  • Coordinating with Consultants and in-house production with the Project Manager, including reviewing consultant drawings for accuracy and coordination.
  • Developing 'cartoon sets' for review by the Project Manager.
  • Reviewing drawings with the Project Manager for coordination between all trades.
  • Assisting with construction administration during the construction of the project, including assisting with RFIs and reviewing shop drawings.
  • Attending project meetings with the Project Manager and assisting with field reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master of Architecture degree from an accredited college is preferred.
  • Architectural License or currently working toward licensure preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience as a designer for small to large scale architectural projects, particularly in Commercial, Municipal, and K-12 sectors.
  • Experience in K-12 educational projects is preferred.
  • Strong design skills and technical proficiency in architecture and construction.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and maintain records and files effectively.
  • Proficiency with Revit Architecture is a must; knowledge of CORE software is preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and writing skills for team/client interactions.
  • High level of computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe programs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of CORE software is preferred.
