About the position

The Project Designer role at Cushman & Wakefield involves leading interior design projects from conception to completion, ensuring compliance with building codes and safety regulations while collaborating with clients to meet their needs and vision. This remote position requires a strong background in design and construction, with a focus on creating functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the interior design effort of special or more complex projects.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, vision, and budget for the project.
  • Develop creative and functional design concepts, considering space planning, aesthetics, and functionality.
  • Produce detailed design drawings and specifications that adhere to all building codes and regulations.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure project success.
  • Create compelling presentations to effectively communicate design concepts to clients.
  • Maintain a high level of quality control throughout the design and construction process.
  • Oversee inventory of FF&E inventory; assist in the support of disposition programs to maximize reuse, donation, recycling, and avoidance of disposal and waste.
  • Coordinate FF&E program implementation for clients in the US and Canada.
  • Ensure the client's workplace model is followed correctly.
  • Act as an escalation point for the team for FF&E questions and exception requests.
  • Work with FF&E Asset Manager and Coordinators to obtain furniture plans and furniture lists for large projects and review them for compliance with the workplace model.
  • Assist the FF&E Asset Manager & Coordinators in procurement tasks.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Bachelor's degree from a CIDA accredited institution in a related discipline or field of study (i.e. Architecture, Interior Design, Corporate Real Estate, Facilities, Project or Construction Management, etc.) required, OR Bachelor's degree in Other Major than above plus Interior Design Certification, Degree or Diploma.
  • Two (2) + years of experience in the design and construction industry.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design projects and a high level of creativity and innovation.
  • Excellent understanding of building codes, construction principles, and interior design best practices.
  • Proficient in Revit.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
