About the position

The Project Detailer (Drafter) is responsible for preparing technical shop drawings for various architectural projects based on specifications and architectural plans. This role involves reviewing plans, coordinating with internal stakeholders, and producing documentation packages and drawing sets to meet project specifications.

Responsibilities

• Reading architectural plans to determine type and extent of products required on each project
• Preparing a complete set of shop drawings using AutoCAD for submittal to the project stakeholders as well as for use in fabrication
• Communicating with contractors, architects, and installers to coordinate drawings with field conditions
• Maintaining and implementing all supplemental documents and correspondence into shop drawings
• Tracking changes of projects through revisions
• Coordination of project materials with multiple departments
• Performing other duties as needed
• Providing technical expertise to other Project Detailers and customers (for Senior roles)
• Working on projects that are more technically complex (for Senior roles)

Requirements

• 1-3 years of hands-on drafting/detailing experience in architectural or construction industry
• 1 or more years of experience in a role where reading blueprints was a requirement
• 1 or more years of AutoCAD experience required
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Certification or two-year degree in Drafting or similar field of study preferred

• Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry and the ability to apply related concepts
