About the position

The Project Director is responsible for directing, planning, and managing all requirements for Civil and Construction projects, particularly focusing on Coal/Ash Remediation. This role involves overseeing project financials, schedules, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget while fostering strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage all aspects of Civil and Construction projects including change orders, submittals, procurement, and project financial updates.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within corporate policy boundaries.
  • Initiate and maintain liaison with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to facilitate construction activities.
  • Monitor and control construction through administrative direction of on-site Project Manager and other team members to ensure projects are built on schedule and within budget.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts to protect the company's interests while maintaining good relationships with clients and subcontractors.
  • Oversee and coordinate project activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and submit required documentation records such as status reports and punch lists.
  • Provide leadership and technical direction to project teams to ensure work is completed in proper sequence and quality standards are met.
  • Coordinate all safety-related activities in compliance with corporate safety standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar position, specifically in Coal/Ash Remediation.
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Understanding of civil engineering design and construction methods and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction estimating software such as Hard Dollar or Bid Build.
  • Experience with construction scheduling software like MS Project or Primavera.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information to clients and stakeholders.
