About the position

The Project Director will lead investigations, designs, and project development for water and wastewater treatment systems in the Northeast region, particularly in Eastern Pennsylvania and Central New Jersey. This role involves project leadership, client relationship management, and team engagement to drive business growth and ensure sustainable water solutions.

Responsibilities

• Direct the technical and production work of project teams.
• Administer contractual aspects of projects and act as the primary contact for clients.
• Lead multi-disciplinary treatment facility designs, alternatives analyses, and economic evaluations.
• Oversee collection and distribution projects, including linear and pumping systems.
• Conduct treatability studies, including bench testing and pilot plant evaluations.
• Provide financial and operational reviews for projects.
• Deliver construction phase engineering services.
• Assist in business development, sales, and marketing of water projects, focusing on large clients.
• Lead proposal development and pricing strategies for new work.
• Build effective relationships with key clients in the region.
• Promote and cross-sell other GHD services.
• Collaborate with leadership to drive positive outcomes for employees and clients.
• Develop and mentor young professionals and graduates.

Requirements

• Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering or a closely related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in PA or ability to acquire it.
• 15+ years of relevant water engineering experience.
• Experience with large pumping systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of water regulations including wastewater treatment and conveyance, surface water treatment, lead and copper, and disinfection byproduct rules.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both within a team and independently.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and client meetings as needed.
