About The Position

The Project Director at South Central Regional Medical Center is responsible for guiding the project team through the implementation and maintenance of projects within the EPIC department. This role serves as the central communication point, ensuring a common vision and strategy across all areas of the department while managing project scope, cost, schedule, and quality.

Requirements

  • Experience leading large teams of individuals and the ability to manage staff effectively.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Past success with large-scale projects.
  • Bachelor's Degree in any field.
  • Healthcare experience preferred but not required.
  • Epic experience preferred but not required.
  • Project Management certification preferred; project management experience required.
  • Complete assigned EPIC (WISCONSIN) Certification(s) and/or training within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Providing organizational knowledge and guidance for the team to facilitate decision-making.
  • Managing the scope, cost, schedule, and quality of all current and future projects.
  • Staff management and resource allocation.
  • Being familiar with all aspects of the implementation, maintenance and long-term options.
  • Coordinating all project activities, including software and hardware, business- and IT-related tasks, establishing/maintaining a super user program, internal communications and change management, recruiting and engaging super users and subject matter experts.
  • Making decisions.
  • Communicating with leaders in the hospital(s), clinics, and billing office(s).
  • Setting appropriate expectations across the organization in relation to current and future projects.
  • Building and maintaining morale.
  • Promoting the system and representing it positively to the user community.
  • Reviewing the progress of any project regularly with Epic (Wisconsin) and organization leadership.
  • Coordinating the organization's overall needs and direction with Epic (Wisconsin).
