About the position

The Project Director at CORMAC will lead a multi-disciplinary team in managing federal healthcare contracts, focusing on data and analytics, health systems research, and practice improvement. This role involves strategic planning, budget management, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring project deliverables align with national program visions. The position emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and effective communication within a diverse and supportive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team in planning and implementation of federal healthcare contracts.
  • Create long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines.
  • Manage project budget, team capacity allocation, evaluations, and deliverables.
  • Assist in defining project scope and goals, managing potential risks and liabilities.
  • Make effective decisions and selectively delegate tasks to team members.
  • Translate federal program operations into actionable practices and foster partnerships with stakeholders.
  • Provide operational oversight for multiple ongoing tasks and ensure alignment with national program vision.
  • Lead stakeholder meetings and prepare presentations.
  • Contribute to solution and architecture design for healthcare technology projects.
  • Perform quality control on projects to maintain expected standards.
  • Motivate team members to complete tasks on time.
  • Serve as a point of contact for teams on shared projects to ensure synergy.
  • Oversee reporting of Earned Value Management (EVM) to assess project performance.
  • Determine new projects and provide proposal support for new opportunities.
  • Support team members by providing necessary resources.
  • Oversee goal setting and yearly performance reviews for the team.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of Project Manager experience including Agile workflow practices.
  • Professional certifications including PMI's Project Management Professional (PMP) and at least one Agile Project Management/Scrum Master Certification.
  • Detailed understanding of federal and non-federal stakeholders with proven ability to conduct stakeholder meetings.
  • 10+ years of Federal government experience, specifically with Health & Human Services.
  • History of directing projects with cost effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Proven client management experience and ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, Business, Health Services & Sciences, or related field.
  • Proficient in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working remotely using collaboration tools such as MS Teams, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Experience supporting national program vision and providing operational oversight of multiple tasks.
  • 10+ years of experience in large, complex healthcare environments.
  • Proven ability to translate healthcare system operations into practice with HHS agencies.
  • Experience within the research community, providing leadership and direction.
  • Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Technology/Engineering.
