About the position

The Project Engineer/Geoscientist position at Engineering/Remediation Resources Group, INC. involves a multifaceted role that encompasses planning, directing, coordinating, and implementing activities for designated projects. In this position, the individual will take on significant responsibilities that include project and task management, preparing detailed technical reports, and overseeing remedial and removal actions. Field sampling and the implementation of field procedures are also key components of the role. The candidate will be expected to engage in business development activities, which include the preparation of proposals and the supervision of personnel. Additionally, the role involves mentoring staff in technical areas, fostering their development and enhancing the team's overall capabilities. The Project Engineer/Geoscientist will be expected to manage and prepare project proposals effectively, which includes delegating various tasks and developing compelling themes that resonate with potential clients. The individual will also be tasked with developing a specific area of expertise, thereby establishing an internal reputation as a technical resource within the organization. A comprehensive understanding of all aspects of project management is essential, including scheduling, cost controls, and cost tracking. The successful candidate will manage client expectations and maintain regular communication with clients and regulatory agencies, ensuring that all parties are informed about project status and developments. This position reports directly to the program manager, providing updates on project progress and any challenges encountered.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, directing, coordinating, and implementing activities of designated projects.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain procedures and programs to minimize environmental risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage project and task management, preparing technical reports, and overseeing remedial/removal actions.
  • Conduct field sampling and implement field procedures for soil and groundwater investigations.
  • Oversee munitions response projects.
  • Engage in business development and preparation of proposals.
  • Supervise personnel and assist in staff development/mentoring in technical areas.
  • Manage and prepare project proposals, including delegating various tasks and developing 'win themes'.
  • Develop an area of expertise and internal reputation as a technical resource.
  • Understand all aspects of project management, including scheduling, cost controls, and cost tracking.
  • Manage client expectations and maintain routine communication with clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Report to program manager on project status.

Requirements

  • Experience in project management within environmental engineering or geoscience.
  • Strong technical writing skills for preparing detailed reports.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance related to environmental projects.
  • Experience in field sampling and environmental investigations.
  • Ability to manage client relationships and expectations effectively.
  • Proven ability to supervise and mentor staff in technical areas.
  • Strong business development skills, including proposal preparation.
