About the position

The Project Engineer 3 will support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCP) by managing engineering projects related to the installation and testing of US Navy Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical Systems at a Land Based Engineering Site. This role requires strong engineering expertise, particularly in land-based equipment, and the ability to coordinate effectively across various departments to ensure successful project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage engineering projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Provide technical expertise in the field of land-based engineering, HM&E, including but not limited to machinery, propulsion equipment, and related electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design engineers, technicians, and operations staff to ensure project goals are met effectively.
  • Coordinate resources including personnel, equipment, and materials required for project execution.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success and safety.
  • Ensure that all engineering activities and projects comply with relevant regulations, standards, and site-specific requirements.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation including drawings, specifications, reports, and other relevant records.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Seven years of experience with the operation, repair, modification, maintenance of U.S. Navy Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) and Electronic Systems and Equipment.
