About the position

Cenero is seeking a Project Engineer specializing in Audio Visual systems to join our dynamic engineering team. This role is pivotal in overseeing the post-sale engineering aspects during the integration of Audio Visual, Video Conferencing, and IT Solutions systems. The Project Engineer will be responsible for reviewing complex scopes of work, site information, and bills of materials, and subsequently producing essential documentation such as signal flow schematics and infrastructure drawings. This position requires a proactive approach to assist project managers, programmers, and installation technicians in resolving technical issues that may arise during the implementation phase, including the provision of change orders as necessary. The Project Engineer will manage multiple tasks daily, responding quickly and accurately to requests for assistance, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and effectively. In this role, the Project Engineer will engineer projects ranging from small (under $25K) to large-scale projects (over $200K). Responsibilities include creating build documentation that outlines signal flow and AV architectural requirements, reviewing scope of work and bill of materials for accuracy, and producing additional documentation such as power draw charts and wire pull charts. The Project Engineer will take ownership as the primary engineer for 8 to 15 concurrent projects of varying sizes, ensuring timely responses to notifications and maintaining effective communication and documentation of activities. A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a commitment to a team-centric environment are essential for success in this role. Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed, contributing to the overall success of the engineering team and the company.

Responsibilities

  • Engineering for small (25K and below) to large-sized (200K and up) projects
  • Create build documentation such as signal flow and AV Architectural requirements
  • Review scope of work and bill of materials documentation for uniformity and accuracy
  • Producing other documentation such as power draw charts, head loads and wire pull charts
  • Create change orders, answer internal questions, work along with project stakeholders and other trades to aid in completion of projects
  • Ownership as primary engineer for 8 to 15 concurrent projects varying in size
  • Respond to any notifications in a timely and proficient manner
  • Effectively communicate and document activities
  • Maintain a positive attitude, strong work ethic and embrace a team centric environment
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field or equivalent experience
  • At least 3-5 years AV engineering experience and/or training
  • CTS certification or equivalent is preferred but not required at time of hire; must obtain within one year from hire date
  • Must have 3 years of experience with AutoCAD
  • Experience with block creation and dynamic blocks a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and Adobe PDF is required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrate a high level of organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment as well as independently
  • Ability to prioritize and possess excellent problem solving skills
  • Valid Driver's License with minimum of 3 years clean driving record

Nice-to-haves

  • CTS-D certification is preferred but not mandatory
  • Additional manufacturer specific certifications (Biamp, Crestron, Extron, Polycom) is preferred
