About the position
The Project Engineer position at Hoyle Tanner focuses on the development of transportation infrastructure plans and specifications, particularly in bridge design and construction observation. The role involves working within a multi-discipline team to solve technical challenges on significant projects while maintaining strong client relationships. Responsibilities
- Lead the development of transportation infrastructure plans and specifications.
- Perform bridge design and miscellaneous structural design.
- Conduct bridge inspections and ratings, and collect field data.
- Provide construction observation and oversight.
- Complete assignments accurately and on time with limited direction from the Project Manager.
- Develop an understanding of project budget, scope of services, and project schedule.
- Share best practices to improve performance and efficiency of self and team.
- Assist in proposal efforts and development.
- Conduct site visits and participate in or lead meetings with clients and contractors.
- Demonstrate strong technical writing and presentation skills.
Requirements
- BS (MS preferred) Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
- 5 - 10 years of relevant experience
- Current PE in NH, MA, ME, or VT
- Experience with MaineDOT, NHDOT, VTrans or MassDOT and municipal bridge projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microstation, Bridge Structural Analysis Programs, MathCad, BlueBeam, etc.
