We are seeking a Project Engineer/Business Analyst to join our CGI team in Salt Lake City, UT! This is a full-time career opportunity in supporting a leading global client at the client site in Salt Lake City area. The role is responsible for analyzing and providing project services to the lead Project Manager, and support on business review activities of the functional area in line with the company policies and procedures to achieve the team's objectives and targeted plan. The key project services delivered by the role include the development of project cost estimates and integrated project schedules, monitoring and controlling activities during the execution of the project stage, and cost and schedule forecasting and reporting in conformance with the company guidance notes and project procedures. Additionally, the role ensures that project controls requirements are embedded in commercial documents and develops project controls guidance notes, procedures, tools, templates, and best practices to implement projects as required. In this position, you will gather and analyze business requirements from internal stakeholders for scopes of work, engage in technical writing and reviewing of project paperwork, and assist the project manager with tracking and scoping of project tasks including schedules, budgets, risks, and deliverables. You will also assist with the creation of presentations and supporting data for presentations for leaders and stakeholders. A critical aspect of this role is HSE Management, where you will maintain HSE focus within the team to ensure HSE requirements are included in design and procurement, demonstrating full commitment to all health and safety matters and providing safety leadership to the project team. Regular reviews of HSEC risks will be conducted, and you will have the authority to stop work if an appropriate control is not in place or working properly. Building and maintaining healthy client relationships is essential, as you will proactively resolve performance, scope, and schedule issues with stakeholders as they arise. You will effectively manage assigned budgets within the project's total scope and ensure compliance with contract requirements through effective change control processes. Time management is crucial, as you will contribute to the development of the overall project schedule and supervise work in accordance with the approved schedule. Monitoring cost aspects of the project to forecast final costs, identifying trends, and taking action to avoid cost overruns will also be part of your responsibilities. You will contribute to compliance with the company's policies and procedures, ensuring quality management throughout the project lifecycle. Team management will involve focusing the team on achieving milestones and other key project objectives, listening to team members, discussing issues, resolving problems, and directing activities to remove roadblocks. You will oversee, motivate, and monitor the performance of the team, ensuring quality and timeliness of assignments and roles, and address any performance gaps. Regular communication with management and stakeholders will be necessary, providing clear reports and effective communication with the design team and third parties. Risk management will involve monitoring the closure of all identified risks and opportunities, while procurement and subcontract management will assess procurement processes throughout the project to ensure goods meet specifications, are delivered on time, and are within budget.
